Managers are seasoned consultants who have demonstrated exceptional intellectual, organizational and client management skills. They are responsible for day-to-day management of engagements to execute and deliver creative, integrated client solutions. Managers are responsible for ensuring that high-quality deliverables are achieved and presented on time, and for managing the staff to achieve these objectives. Managers are directly involved with project teams while maintaining and building strong client relationships. They also devote time to important non-billable activities such as recruiting, internal systems, training, standards and knowledge transfer.

  • Providing intellectual leadership in the development of value-creating solutions
  • Becoming a trusted advisor to the client, and continuing this relationship after the project ends
  • Guiding one or more teams through complex and ambiguous problems to arrive at solutions that are insightful and actionable
  • Synthesizing conclusions and observations into a series of recommendations that are targeted to specific constituencies within the client’s organization
  • Managing project objectives, deliverables and time lines with the client and understanding the impact of changes on the team’s staffing, work load and activities
  • Managing, mentoring and training other members of the organization
  • Providing quick and concise descriptions of a project’s objectives, Axia’s role and the working hypotheses to senior client management at any time
  • Leading the case for change (sometimes radical change) in organizations that may be hesitant or averse to change
  • Identifying and seizing opportunities for additional projects/work while continuing to exceed expectations for current work
  • Drawing broader lessons, insights and opportunities from projects and sharing them with colleagues


  • Bachelor of Science or Arts with outstanding academic credentials (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum of six years consulting experience (strategy formulation, market analysis or business process improvement preferred)
  • Strong leadership qualities, mentoring experience and the desire to take leadership role in a small, entrepreneurial, team-oriented firm
  • Proactive communicator who is flexible enough to drive big-picture or detailed conversations with colleagues and clients at any level
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to oversee multiple work streams
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and the ability to quickly augment these skills with training
  • Willingness to work an average of 50-60 hours per week, including some weekends, and to be available by phone or e-mail as necessary
  • Welcomes business travel as an opportunity to broaden horizons and explore other cultures
